I just wanted to get a few opinions about this weekend program. Reading the information, it sounds fantastic! Anyway, my H did say yesterday he would be willing to go. I had found out about it through the counseling center where I have been going for IC. I'll be honest, after everything I've read about traditional MC, I'm not sure that's the best option even if H is willing to go! Well, I know it all depends on the RIGHT therapist. So far I've not found anyone I'm overly thrilled with. Well, that and I'm not sure H is truly ready to hear anything without debating it in his head.
Anyway - check this out and let me know your thoughts:
I looked at the website, and it looks good to me. My husband and I went to a weekend program that saved our marriage. It was a Retrouvaille weekend. Here is their website, www.helpourmarriage.org. Why not check into both, and see which one looks better to you?
Well, I certainly am getting an education from checking out different resources. It's enough to make your head spin! However, I will say - better than years ago when there was no internet and you felt totally isolated and didn't know where to turn to get help for such issues. So far I've looked at all of the following to various degrees:
1. James Dobson's book - Love Must be Tough (GREAT read as I've mentioned, and I feel probably the one to start this whole philosophy of being able to fight back as the LBS.)
2. Read DR and been on the boards here (obviously)
3. Checked out the Larry guy's website (www.stopyourdivorcein4weeks.com) but can't afford that program at the moment. Looks good, however.
4. Checked out the Mort Fertel site (www.marriagemax.com) and requested info. I will probably order this program since it's not that much.
5. Signed up on the mid life club boards
6. Been to IC
7. Planning to attend (as long as H doesn't back off) this weekend thing and checking out the other one Lotus suggested.
I feel a bit of information overload coming on but I guess the more info, the better, right?! Well, as long as it's good info.
