Refresh my memory, wasn't there court not that long ago where your D did not speak up?
I think your D needs to seek help from an agency or group in CA where she lives. School teachers, Child Services, a support group that deals with abusive parents. I suppose the police won't get involved if there is no physical violence.
How is the granddad? is he still living there too?
Your D seems very capable, you can emotionally support her but I believe action on your part is going to do more harm than good.
