Know and speak up for what you want. Write it down. Be prepared in the discussion, take the bull by the horns.

We saw a therapist that helped us establish what we wanted to do with co-parenting. The help of a professional is a good idea.

Figs, Geronimo, antlers, alice thank you for your advice and suggestions.

Well I guess we'll see how it all goes tonight. In a way I'm not looking forward to it and in a way I just want to get it over with. I also have to address the schooling issue in a way that she understands.

I have written much lately since I was traveling and again there's just too much write if I start writing everything that goes through my head. At times I'm OK and at times I miss a partner in life. I miss my daugther too. The landing was interesting and made me think who'd I call if I were to say my last words. It'd be her and I'll probably just tell her to give my love to DD and sorry for everything I did wrong.

Anyway, back to the topic at hand. DD's graduating from kindergarden tomorrow and I've been trying to figure out what to get her for a graduation present. She's been asking for a pet even though we have two cats.

I've always wanted a dog since I was little but never had one and I know she'll love it but it's a big responsibility. With the cats when I'm heading out of town I just fill up their food bowls and take off. Dogs need much more attention and love. I don't have any love to give right now I'm too needy for it for myself. In fact, the poor cats don't get a lot of pets but when I walk in the door they still follow me around happy to see me.

Maybe a fish/turtle/hermit crab? she has too many toys and she loses interest in toys after the first few days.

OK, that's all I got for now...

Go hamster! They're people friendly and kids love them. Turtles are dirty, live longer than we do and can give you salmonella if you don't wash your hands after touching them! I love mine though. grin

No hamsters wii, the cats will kill it. I don't agree with the idea of caged birds either so that leaves me with two choices a Boxer or a horse grin

Maybe I'll just get her a toy instead...

I loved having a small turtle when I was a kid. If that fails maybe you could even go with a frog? They have those kits where you start with a pollywog and get to watch it go through all the stages.

Personally I love my ferrets but unless they are raised with a cat, probably not a good idea. Plus they can get several diseases from the cats that are more harmful to them.

Just something to think about. smile

You could get her a Webkin! If you don't know it is a stuffed animal and comes in a ton of types, my kids have a frog, a poodle, and a dog but my son wants a dragon.

Anyway they come with a code so that you can go online and make them a room! You pick out wallpaper, furniture, clothes for the webkin, etc etc. My kids go through spurts of playing with theirs and then not playing for a week or two. Fortunately the computer program is smart and never lets the animals starve! wink However the kids do play games to earn 'money' so they can buy their pets different foods...

They also have kits where you get a habitat for caterpillars to turn into butterflies, then you release the butterflies once they 'hatch'...I even saw them at target. Granted I believe you have to send away for the caterpillars...

I'm gonna get myself the WAS Webkin, then go online and buy her the cheapest ugliest wallpaper, furniture and clothes I can possibly find. And to hell with buying her food!
