So I have been reading "Journey from Abandonment to Healing"...

So far I have read about the "Shattering" phase and am now working through the "Withdrawal" phase. I definitely relate to both phases and have experienced them many times over... blush I like how the author explains the chemical/physical reactions of the body. Helps you realize what you are experiencing is normal and you aren't crazy! wink

Anyway the coping mechanism suggested when your brain is on overdrive is to live in the moment...appreciate the sights, sounds, etc before you to refocus your mind.

Anyway, for some reason (probably because I always make random connections) that made me think of a phrase often spouted by Dana Carvey as Garth in Wayne's world...

"Live in the now!"

So in keeping with that, kids just got home and we have started watching Alice in Wonderland. Gonna go enjoy quality time with my kidlets! smile

Good book until it gets into the 'little me and big me' stuff...

I never thought I was crazy I just wanted a magic pill that would take away all my pain and so I don't feel a thing. I'm still looking...

...and all very classic, effective therapeutic techniques. I hope you find this book as helpful as I did...after 2 years, it really turned me around.

Good deal, Wii! Going to try to finish the Withdrawal chapter after kids are in bed tonight...

Just finished Insanity workout day 1: Plyometric Cardio Circuit

I am drenched in sweat and drained, in a good way. Ever notice when you are pushing your body you don't have room in your brain to overthink the rest of your life? grin

Now, off to mow before the rain gets here...

Is this worth it? I am thinking it might be what I want for Fathers Day.

There's always time to overthink...you just have want it bad enough. The way I see it, any wimp can NOT think about his problems but it takes a real man to face analysis paralysis!

Hey K, right now I am great, stepped off the rollercoaster and enjoying the view! grin

Don't know if it's the endorphins or what, but I worked out and then went out and mowed, just came in. Hot sweaty, but I feel great! Also a sense of accomplishment that I got something done...

Coach, I really like it so far. Granted I have only done the fit test and the first day of workouts. It is tough, funny I can run for miles but this stuff is totally different. One of those things you simultaneously hate and love. Once you finish the workout it sure feels good! smile

OK time to hit the showers!

And Wii, you must have more mental stamina than I do. They say workout to muscle fatigue or muscle failure...well I overthought into brain falure so I had to stop!
