MRLost, my daughter is also 4 and I am planning to get my W to think of a script to tell our daughter and to think of answers to the emotions that will come out of our daughter.
I know there is a lot of advice out there about ensuring the kids know that it is not their fault and that daddy and mummy still loves them, but I hope by making my W think through exactly what she and I will say make her understand that kids are NOT fine with D. It shakes their security foundation to the core.
