Friday night was high school graduation for my son's 4th son. She now only has one to go and that is her 5th child, the only girl, and she's now a senior. Good heavens! Time flies. It was a perfect night weather-wise. Of course, the quantities of Southern Comfort punch that were consumed beforehand made the 2 hours of graduation ceemonies bearable. LOL "grin:
Saturday was just full of the usual rushing around doing chores and running mom.
Sunday morning was church and then it poured rain and the thunder and lightning was pretty violent. We made it through without too much damage though and I did manage to get some groceries for Memorial Day.
I grilled ribs yesterday and cut lots of fruit. I bought the rest....cheater!! Apple pie and hummus with pita chips. LOL The rest was supplied by my family and we had LOTS of banana rum with Fresca. OMG......I'm still paying for it. No headache, just really sluggish.
So, all in all a good weekend. I asked Gabe if he wanted to come eat at my cousin's before he had to go to work but he wouldn't. I didn't ask why, I know why. He doesn't want to be face to face with any of them. If this continues between us, he's going to have to get over that or this won't work. Of course, that was always a problem between us though. Gabe doesn't like large gatherings of any sort and really doesn't like being in a large family environment. You would think that he would have indicated that before we got married. He always came to our family events when we were dating, he seemed to have a good time, but as soon as we were married he ducked out of them at every opportunity. I have a huge, close family and we are all up in each other's business. You've seen "My Big Fat Greek Wedding"? Then you've pretty much seen how things happen in my family except we're German/Anglo-Saxon/Irish acestry with some Cherokee indian and a sprinkling of other nationalites by marriage. It's loud, it's crazy, but it's fun. Gabe doesn't think so. His loss.
Ok, so that rambled on quite enough didn't it?
Just enjoying the time together and trying not to look to tomorrow too much.
