I'm not sure her asking you about how you feel about him now is either a positive or negative. It's mindreading to try and determine from that whether he's either pressing on for D or is testing the water with you.

But then if D is the right option for YOU, that's what should happen. If it's only what he wants, I would just sit back and wait.
