Yesterday was a stressful day. The stress mostly centered around daycare. To recap: I enrolled DS in the more expensive daycare because it was next to work so when H and I moved we wouldn't have to find him a new daycare. Now that we are not moving I want to put DS in the cheaper daycare close to home. But the expensive one said if we pull him out and they don't fill the slot we still have to pay the full tuition to them. So on Tuesday I had them split the account so I'd only be responsible for half of all daycare costs. They contacted H yesterday about it and he got upset. We e-mailed back and forth and he said things like "let's take a loss on the deposit and just send DS to the cheaper daycare and say good luck to the expensive one getting tuition out of us". Keep in mind I paid the full $400 deposit out of my own pocket, still waiting on H to pay back his share. I said they will pursue collections so I'd rather not have that happen. So he replied, and I quote "They can pursue all the collection action they'd like, I didn't sign a blessed thing so I don't think I should be held responsible for tuition if he doesn't go there." Then he asked what the prices are. So instead of being snarky like I wanted to be and say he is responsible for half no matter what per the court orders, I just calmly replied with the prices of both places and how much it would cost him per week and told him I was going to write the Executive Board of the more expensive place and see if they would allow us to remove DS from the program. So he wrote back saying with how much time and money he spends driving to pick DS up from where we live that it might be worth the extra cost to have him at the same campus we work at. Again I wanted to be snarky and ask how he can afford the extra cost when he can't even afford the $64 every other week right now? How the frig does he think he'll be ok paying $181 twice a month when he can't manage the $64 twice a month? But I was good and didn't respond at all. I did talk to the expensive place and they said if H doesn't pay they'd let me know and work out a payment plan with me so I can pay his share of the tuition and take him to court to get the money back.

Talked to the less expensive place today, they assured me they have a spot open for Brian and most likely will for the whole summer so whatever happens with the expensive place I do have somewhere else to send him. They are also going to look into splitting the account for DS there as well, so that H has to pay them directly. And again, if H doesn't pay they'd tell me so I could make payment arrangements to prevent DS from being kicked out.
