Isn't it though? The thing to be really aware of is that those changes mostly came from you. You begin to see things differently and it certainly isn't an overnight process. It is so good of you to reach out.

Housewarming coming up on Saturday! So much to do, so little time! Hung another set of blinds last night (2 to go!), Roger got the garage mostly finished (we can get one car in there again, and will be able to park both in there as soon as the surfboards and kayak are hung). Gonna hit up home depot tonight and try and get a shelf hung. Maybe hang some artwork too. I asked Roger to bring all his in from the garage last night.
Whew! I'll post pics maybe Friday.

I think we are shooting for the only weekend I can..July 15-18th. Tuscon is still the place, though I am fine either way. Just need to buy tickets and such soon!!

So, I have no idea what prompted this, but just got a facebook message from XH....
"I really don't know how to say this because sometimes you have a nack of twisting everything I say. So just try to understand that I'm just trying to express my feelings. I know you aren't being malicious about it but you hanging out with my family really upsets me sometimes. I wish you thought we could at least be friends, you are a great person and you make me laugh. But if you and I can't be friends maybe you shouldn't be friends with my family either. The end result is that my own relatives lie to me and feel a need to cover for you. You may not believe it but it hurts pretty bad when my own mom lies to my face, I know it and I just have to nod and smile. I would like to try to get along with you, but if you are unwilling to so people feel that there is some need to take sides, then please stay clear of my world all together because I'm still upset about how our relationship went."
I am spending the weekend with them. The girls at least. But I have no idea what he talked about with them that he thinks xMIL is lying to him.
It really rubs me the wrong way because I can be friends with anyone who is willing to be friends with me.
If he has a freakin problem with them, maybe he should actually try talking to them about it. Maybe if he wasn't so freaking passive aggressive and depressed they wouldn't feel the need to walk on eggshells around him.

You are SPOT ON with the above! He is trying to control their actions by controlling you. He knows it too just by the fact that he started the whole statement by saying "you have a nack of twisting everything I say."
I'm not sure I would even bother with a response back to him.
