Remember what I said about the shortest distance between two points being a straight line, be direct, ask the question.

"I saw you carrying cash into the basement the other day, I found $600, why are you stashing cash in the basement? Why would you just put it in the bank or under the bed mattress like normal people?"

Just ask him ;-)

I agree with Rob. No reason to pus$$y foot around at this point - just ask him. You might even phrase it in a very non-controlling way and positively assumptive way... "I found $600 in the basement, were you saving that for something in particular or should I put in the bank when I go tomorrow?"

You never know until you ask....
