Thanks for the vote of confidence, CTH. Still uncomfortable to take deep breaths but I am back at work and nearly fever-free! (Only like 99.5 so not bad at all!)
Last night had a bummer moment....My mom came in and brought the kids supper-yay! She was in the dining room with them and Sydney starts telling her daddy has his fridge, and that soon he will have everything he needs to have a real house.
My mom tried to put a good spin on it and told her, "Then you will have "The best of both worlds"" (Trying to sound like Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana.)
Nathan replies, out of thin air, "Yeah, I am lucky because I had a lot of years growing up to be with mom and dad when they were, you know, together. Sydney missed out on that." And Sydney says, "Yeah, I was just a tiny baby when mommy and daddy were together".
And you know, she's right. He first slept with ow the week that Sydney turned one... And apparently Nathan thinks five years with his dad in the house are 'a lot'. That makes me sad for him and for her, and you know what? It's ok to be sad about that...
But not dwelling. Tonight I am taking them to see Shrek. I hope it's good!
Glad you are feeling better. How much more school do you guys have?
Kids perceptions are so different than our own. Five years to Nathan is most of his life so for him he was lucky. I still have moments when the family without a Dad stuff gets me...like Hallmark commercials around Christmas and last year when they did the AT & T commercial and the little girl gives her monkey to the Dad for his trip. D9 saw it and said that watching that always made her sad. I asked her why, the little girl is happy to see her Dad. She said her Daddy gomes home but mine doesn't. Sob!!
Let me know if Shrek is any good. I will have the girls back Sunday night and might go then.

After today, we have 9 more days of school. However, that final week after Memorial Day, June 1-4, I am working the various grade levels' track and field days the first 3 days, then the last day is an 11 a.m. dismissal and I won't serve kids that day.
Not too bad. Our last day was this past Tuesday the 18th. Feel bad for the kids that it has been raining alot since then. Today is actually a beautiful day and I hope that they get out and play while I am working.
Hope you are able to get more rest this weekend.

Ugh! Went back to work today, apparently should have listened to the doc who said go back Monday. Feel like crud, have only worked with two kids bc my other kids are out sick (prob from me!)...went home at lunch and felt flushed. Took temp and it is back to 100.7!
Promised kids I would take them to Shrek so I will just tough it out for them.
WOW! Your kids got out SUPER early kat. When do they start school? Our schools start the second week of August and get out the Friday of Memorial weekend.

BobbiJo you should have stayed home. I have started thinking...would I send one of the kids to school if they felt like this? If not, stay home!!
Mish, we seem to keep starting earlier. Usually start right after D9's birthday which is August 9th. I think this next year we are starting a bit later which she is happy for but we will get out around the same time, the 20th I think.

I know, it just feels so WEIRD to be an adult and miss three days of work, I hated to miss four... Think I will go home now, a whole HOUR early... At least I can take a nap before I pick up the kids.
