I'm going to sound like a pill pusher but starting Celexa really turned things around for me. I went from obsessive negative thoughts and a lot of crying, to making a lot of progress in detaching, being able to enjoy things, and being able to redirect my mind away from negative thought loops. When I started the antidepressants I didn't think I was depressed because I've been in major depressions before that were worse (that I didn't take antidepressants for). But I have found that my experience is as has been described by others: it's not a happy pill, it just helps me to get to the place where I can help myself.
