Sounds like GAL is going great. And about the attractiveness, I just lost 30 lbs and look so much better, but as Gnosis points out it's really not about physical appearance. In a M, it's more about whether you are pushing the "attract" buttons or the "repel" buttons. And of course if you are being compared to a fantasy of a perfect wife or an OW you will measure up short constantly.
