Yes, I think you are very smart to call the cc company & explain you situation, be sure & talk to someone in management level, some of the people there might not understand the rules & be sure to get their name also.
Just wanted to let you know that the one credit card company (joint acct) is sending paperwork to have H fill out and that will be ok.
The other one, was in both our names, I had him taken off a year ago for overspending and then I closed it this fall after bomb so now I am basically screwed as even if my L sends legal documentation, I am still libal, unless H and I open up a joint acct., transfer the balance and then have my name taken off of it. Will have to talk to L about that...

I think you need to get your L to do something about that for sure! They put down all the credit cards we had & who was responsible for them when we D. I was thankful that up until that time, I kept the CC paid off. I believe you can get your L to somehow get your H to pay that off. I think that would be good if you can get your H to agree to open up another account. I'm just not sure what needs to happen. Let me know what L says.

Well, I emailed the timeshare people & asked if they had informed the collection agency about the change of membership & here is the latest email I got from them:
Dear (me),
Good Morning, Yes, we had informed the collection agency! By the other hand we can only process changes on the memberships when the accounts are current. Our system had been up dated with Mr. (ex h) information. We just need a phone number. Best Regards,
So, I sent them ex's brother's phone number. I hope this means that I'm out of it, but I have a feeling I'm not completely b/c she keeps saying they can only process changes that are current & this in not current b/c the fees are outstanding. So, I'm not really sure. My plan is to wait a little longer, give the collection agency time to turn it over the the credit reporting agencies, then get my free credit report & if it is on there then I will dispute & I guess contact my lawyer at the time. I really don't know what else to do.
I am sorry you are going through this. At the time of my divorce, we owned 2 timeshares. I did not want anything to do with them since ex had took OW to them. Plus, I did not want the maintenence fees. Now ex is stuck with all of that.
It is amazing what a mess we have to go through.

I wouldn't wait much longer to contact someone in the legal field.. You need to get this taken care of because your credit rating could be messed up because of this.

Well, I think this is settled! Here is what I got from the timeshare late this afternoon:
Dear (me), Good Afternoon, I had sent Mr. (ex) brother information to the collection agency & I replaced your phone number to (ex's brother's phone#). As you have a legal document that support that you are no longer responsible for this membership, you shouldn't have any problem. Neither with us or the collection agency! At our system you appear as a co member, nevertheless we have on our records all comments about your divorce & documents received. Best Regards,
I think I'm free from it!!! It appears I am anyway according to the timeshare people. Thank goodness!!! Now, I'm sure I will get a nasty letter from ow once they have figured out what is going on. Their problem now, not mine!!
Well, as far as Nashville, it's still a mess around here. I'm just so thankful! So many people have lost their homes, their places of work & everything. The Oprymills Mall was under water so they have gutted it, also the Grand Ole Opry House has been gutted also. A lot of the artist & musicians lost stage productions & instruments, some had insurance on them some did not. The federal gov. is helping some but still they have been having benefit concerts & raising money for everyone in this area, it's all supposed to stay in TN there were 50 counties declared federal disaster & Nashville was one of them. Just down the street from me (down a hill) furniture & walls, drywall & all that stuff just sitting in their yards, it's so sad. But, we are a city that will come together, it's going to take some time, maybe even years but we will get back. They have said it is the worst it has ever been here. We had 17 inches in 2 days, that is more than we get in 3 or 4 months. And, we had rain this past weekend, about an inch & more expected on Friday. I'm sure by the end of the summer we will be wanting some of this rain but right now we do not need it. God knows best & we will survive.

I sure hope all is taken care of with that timeshare too! That has had me pretty stressed out. I value my good credit, I know it's not the end of the world & if it was something that I had a hand in then I could accept it & take care of it, but this was not me & should have been taken care of. I'm sure my ex never saw the email from the timeshare people last year. I don't want his credit ruined either b/c I'm the one that got him straightened out & the only reason he had good credit. His best friend told me last year that he hoped he would get rid of her before she ruined him mentally & financially. Looks like he might be headed in that direction, of course I don't know this is just based on this little problem here. I don't know if I'll ever know about it or not. We'll see.
