Love it, guys! Not sure what they'd call it. I am doped up and thus my fever is down and I feel more human. Still not ready to shower, for some reason having the chills = no desire to go in the water! Although a hot tub sounds nice, but with a fever probably a bad idea...
well there is always next month! Actually went out to the "haymarket"? tonight for dinner---place called Upstream? Pretty neat little place have you ever been there?

Yes, I LOVE the Upstream. That is where my supposed-date for tonight was going to take me if I hadn't a)decided not to go and b)gotten the flu.
I love Upstream bc it has great steaks, and the salads before the entree come with crazy raisins (Craisins) Also it has that area with shuffleboard and pool tables. I recommend the potstickers for an appetizer if you go there again.
The old market is actually a pretty cool place. Kind of like Laclede's Landing/Riverfront area of STL just smaller...oh and I used to like going to Union Station, too. Nice Cardinals store there.
Yup! I think "haymarket" is in Lincoln near the University? Anyways, it is a pretty cool area down there, too funny about that being the date place I could have spied on you! There are some pretty good eats and drinks around that area. I think it will be really cool when the new baseball stadium is built even though I like Rosenblatt.
I have been to Upstream quite a few times as I keep going back and I usually take a rep out to one of the different places around that area for lunch during the day, have yet to find a bad place down there yet.
And not to end on a bummer but Union Station is almost completly vacant now, Cards store is gone but is now in a few of the other malls in the area instead. The mall itself I believe may be getting torn down and "redeveloped"??

As for the Old Market, I also enjoy Spaghetti Works, Trini's (Mexican), Ms Pub, and Michael's (Mexican). There is a FABULOUS ice cream place down there too, called Ted & Wally's. My best friend worked there during her high school years when it first opened up. It is an Old Market original, they were doing Mix-ins before Maggie Moos even existed...I took my D to Ted & Wally's when we had MommyDaughter day at the Orpheum Theater to see the Little House musical.
Sad but not that surprising re. Union Station. It was pretty bustling when we lived there in 1997-1998 but even when we came back in 2000-2002 it was on the decline. The Hooter's had shut down in the upper area, and some other restaurants had closed. I always loved the fudge place where they sang while they made fudge...
Oh and I woke up at 6:00 in a ball of sweat, had to strip the bed so I can wash the sheets. On the bright side, my fever is gone. Still a stiff neck and hurts to breathe deeply, but hopefully that will get better, too...
Yeah, being able to walk without being in pain is a big plus!
Still not sure why my lungs are inflamed and it hurts to take a full/deep breath though...that is not flu-related according to the doc. Also every time I had to take a deep breath while he listened to my chest, it made me cough....literally every time. Random.
