CJ isn't my H, (nooo...really Jeannine? ) but even still, it makes my hand bunch up into a fist reading about those fantasies he concocted
I've wondered at times about how my H may have mangled the truth to others - including OW.
I better not go there...
Hey. Did you ever dispose of the "evidence"?
I'm tossing around the idea for myself. Maybe I'll trash those two pictures I have of him and her. That is, after I draw a mustache on her and black out his teeth.
Yeah, my H didn't have quite the imagination of Shiney's, but I can't tell you he came up with some real whoppers for the benefit of OW and some other women he was having email correspondance with.
My God, he was jumping out of helecopters, Medivac-ing people around, going to various medical conferences, snowboarding (competition snowboarding, no less), playing in a band, etc. It went on and on. When I read about all of that, I could only snort in disbelief because it was so pathetic, I couldn't quite laugh!
I guess the biggest shock was that I'd always know him to be straight-up and honest, and not the kind of person who needed to get cheap ego-strokes by impressing people with lies.
One thing that I've learned around here is that this behavior was pretty typical for a temporarily whacked out guy, having a A and a midlife drama. That won't ever help me understand why he behaved so ridiculously, but at least I know that it was quite common under the circumstances.
I think it actually deserves a term around here: I propose we call it "The Hemmingway Syndrome" or something like that. Any other suggestions?

Great ones, J! It's almost like they all got the same brain tumor or something, ya know?
Actually though, I think Historia Corruptus is a great term for one of the other eerily common syndromes they get...the one where the entire R is rewritten in a negative way: "I never loved you, we have never been happy, we just aren't compatible".
Then later, after reconciling, they didn't mean any of what they said, don't remember saying those things: "I never stopped loving you, it wasn't about you, yada yada yada".
Hmmm...maybe the brain tumor causes selective amnesia too!
