I was familiar with sandi2's advice, but the link on detaching and the wonderful advice from robx are new for me, and really useful. Actually I spread the wisdom around and sent them today to a friend going through a rather similar situation.
Regarding your earlier question: H was considerate when he said that he was relieved that we were not to become parents. Part of me thinks of how wonderful it would have been to have a baby. The other part thinks that H would have left us, either during the pregnancy or one year down the road. Plus I was overweight at the time; that could have been bad for the health of the baby. If I am meant to have a baby (which I hope I do), it will happen at the right time...
