NNP, I only served 4 years in the CG and got out in 1982. Other former Coasties on DB that I know of are JackThreeBeans and TwinDad. And those guys busted their divorce so the CG is 2 out of 3 on saved marriages!
I am not sure if we are friends on FB as I have a hard time remembering DB names matching with FB names.
I had part of the same rating as Douglas Munro (Signalman) in addition to navigation. He did save a bunch of Marines in WW2 at the cost of his own life, but I am sure there have been cases where Marines have saved Coast Guard lives.
