Had a great Mother's Day with D16. She gave me a beautiful handmade card and what she wrote made me very emotional.
"Happy Mother's Day Mommy! You are the best mom in the whole world! I know that you are going through a lot and I'm sorry. But you are still the best and you are handling everything really, really well! I hope you enjoy your present! I love you! xoxo
I love her so much...and this is what it all about...
We've spent most of the day together...girly day...had manicures and pedicures done and went to lunch together. Great mother & daughter day <3 <3 <3
D has to go to work tonight and I think that I will go to the movies...all by myself

Aren't Ds great? Mine gave me so much affirmation when things first went south. Then I heard from them how well I was dealing with the situation (along with an occasional 2x4, I confess). Today I had flowers and long phone calls. They have been incredible through this, in spite of their own disillusionment. I am so grateful that they are in my life.
I went out for a nice dinner tonight by myself. I would have preferred company, but enjoyed it anyway, talking sporadically with an older couple at the next table over a huge Bourbon Manhattan (struggled not to order a 2nd) and fresh seafood.
We all have things we can choose to be thankful for, with or without our partners. I choose my Ds first among all.

Thank you CW & Twink Just came back from the movies, went to see Date Night - with Steve Carell and Tina Fey, light fun movie...just what the doctor ordered. It was a little heavy on the married couple interactions...got me emotional a few times...but overall glad I went.
Twink, glad that your Ds are there for you...we all need to know that someone loves us and cares about us now that our Hs are rejecting us. You went to dinner by yourself & I went to movies by myself....I would have preferred to go with my H but enjoyed it anyway.

Libby - that's interesting that's how you look at it as well...I realized that it has to come full circle and the more time they spend together the faster the fantasy ends....at least that's what I hope for.
