The latest... S10 has a crack in his growth plate that is above his ankle. It appears he will need to wear an air cast, and he's out for the count for 6 weeks (can play gk in games only - no distance running). I'm getting another opinion, from the guy that I took S13 to yesterday. This all just sucks. We have never had an injury, and now both boys.

Ugh! TWO injuries!?! That stinks...air casts are not fun but better than the plaster ones, I suppose...are they overtraining? I know nothing as Nathan(7) is my first foray into boys and organized sports...but I remember reading an article last year about the number of shoulder surgeries on high school boys due to overuse in sports (esp baseball) from a young age...
Sorry for the un-needed additional stress!! Hugs and mojitos!
BBJ - They may be over training, but neither injury if from that. S13 is a defender, and he was cleated (by his own GK) in the box during a game (and, it goes on record that no one scored on him...). And, S10 originally injured his during flip training. (What is that, you ask?) Some Pro GK's do back-flips off of the boards during indoor soccer. My D18's best boy friend, knows how, and he was training S10 (he can do it now), and that's when it happened. Doing a dam* flip!
I appreciate all of your kind words and nuggets of info!

Get them healed up. Old fogeys like us can't do too much damage, our old bodies won't let us. The young-uns can screw things up permanently. Keep them in check.

Sorry to hear about your D18's accident. Brain develops until age of 25. Making mistakes is a part of learning and growing. No one is injured, and that is important.

Ferg: LOL "Handle it!" Thank you.

Wholeagain - OK, are you telling me that there's hope yet? Thanks for that. I'll keep re-reading that little nugget.
Well, everyone... I'm off to sell in the field again today. All of this outside activity has really helped my region, but, I will say I will be glad to have help from the TWO MEN they hired to cover for ONE MINDFULL (I know I'm repeating myself, but love that!).
Training, Meeting, LUNCH, Soccer Game in suburbs
Everyone have a nice day. (What to wear?)
