FLTC: Well, I was here since the beginning. And I KNOW your pain. Yours was a tough one for sure - I relate best to the most difficult splits since mine would easily make TOP TEN - LOL (though not really a laughing matter).
I am officially 5 years divorced now (9 years separated). Getting the D finalized was what pushed me forward the most. More than having a great new guy in my life, more than moving, more than ANYTHING! I was one who NEEDED the paper.
I am happy for you in that you can now move on. You don't need to talk to your ex anymore except regarding the welfare of your children. You know where you stand. The anger should dissipate (and you should try not to look back).
Congratulations to you, my friend. You fought the most important battle of your life. You are alive. You are strong. You are free!
