Finally done with the yard and it sure looks good! My flower bed is getting huge everything is growing so well, last year it didn't get planted until August so nothing really took off...already have butterflies coming around, yay!

Gotta jump in the shower while Sydney's cake is baking. Making homemade chocolate layer cake, Dan's grandma's recipe. You put this ho-ho-type filling between the layers and refrigerate it overnight...yum!

Oh I just checked Match and have two emails from 31 yr olds...neat! Just a couple years younger than me, I can handle that!

We spent D7's birthday last summer together -- back when I still held out hope for the M.

For D11's birthday, the actual birthday was STBXW's night and I'm not going to do that "can we spend it together" crap.

So we made a big production out of it the weekend before, which was my weekend. I took her to Medieval Times with her best friend.

I saw her after school on her birthday and gave her a card.

The next weekend was STBXW's and she had a slumber party for her.

I'm guessing STBXW won't have a house by D11's next birthday so I'm not sure what will happen about the slumber party.

My plan is to make my times with them special and let STBXW ask to be a part.

I took the week off this summer for D7's next birthday, but STBXW was thinking ahead. She took the day off and wants it in the agreement that we both see them on their birthdays.

Well, D7 wants to go to Medieval Times as well and I'll invite STBXW along.

Busy busy weekend but all pretty good stuff...quick update:

1)Went to my cousin's for the pay per view boxing/grilling evening. Picked the winning boxer, yay! The single guy there smoked and had a big old beard--not so yay! smile I didn't care I was there to see my cousin and we had a good time.

2)Today was Sydney's party. It went very well! Dan came with the kids, we had lunch and cake and ice cream. Sydney was happy to have us both there. Later Dan called (it was still his day but the kids had chosen to stay with me after lunch) to see if Nathan could come play baseball, he asked me to come too so I could watch as I hadn't before. Sydney wanted to go anyway...so I went and it was nice an almost normal, Dan pitched, Nathan batted, and Sydney and I chased balls.

3)R texted on and off again yesterday and today. I still don't want more than a friendship but hey it would be nice to have someone to golf or go to the movies with...

4)Bought my new running shoes today! New Balance 760s...New Balance is one of the few with wide women's widths, which I need! I wear a 7 which isn't that big but I need a wide...excited for them to come and for Boot Camp which starts up tomorrow. I lost 2 pounds this week just by cutting out some of the crap I was eating (NO Nachos/Queso!!) smile

5)Booked our vacay today...end of July, three nights Essex Inn Chicago, adjacent to Grant Park, with a free sthuttle to Navy Pier, the Museum Complex, and John Hancock. Not getting a car, going to take a shuttle van to the hotel and then use the hotel stuff for anything we don't walk to. Keeping a short (2 mile) radius of the hotel for all of our outings, intentionally. This is not a "go, go, go" vacation. Just me and the kids being able to go where we want, when we want. Or just chilling at the pool if we feel like it. That will be so nice! A no-eggshell vacation.......sigh....... smile

OK gotta hit the bed boot camp starts at 5:30!! eek

Survived boot camp! Loved it, actually, the hour went way too fast... smile I am so ready to be in shape/fit again...was going to stop for a latte on the way to work but after spending an hour exercising I decided I really didn't want a sugar/milk concoction today...although who knows I may change my mind! wink

Last night I took advantage of something Nathan said to share my side...he brought something up about us and I said, "I know your daddy said we couldn't be together because we couldn't agree on things like bedtime and keeping the house clean. But Mommy really wanted us to stay together anyway and work that stuff out. Daddy decided he didn't want to try and figure it out."

That sounds really blunt probably but the conversation was very smooth and ended well, kids and I cuddling together in my bed before I took them to their own rooms. I won't bring anything up again unless they do but I wanted them to know I didn't give up over something so basic.

Congrats on surviving Day 1 of Boot Camp. How long is the program - six weeks, 12 weeks? My gym offers a 12 week Boot Camp I just have trouble arraning the class time to my schedule with my kids, but I think it would be a great program to do.

Nice conversation with Nathan. Sets the record a little bit more straight and I suspect it was reassuring for him.

Let's see...the last Boot Camp was 6 weeks but this is only four...bummer!

However I impulsively ordered a 90-day workout program called "Insanity" after watching an infomercial yesterday...I figure if I start it at the end of boot camp it will run right up through the first week or two of school next August. Since I have the summer off as a teacher, (other than one college class), it is the ideal time where I can fit in an hour of exercise five times a week. I am just tired of lacking energy and not feeling good about my body!

On the Nathan convo, I made it clear that Mommy meant it all these months when I told him I loved his daddy and wanted us to stay married, I never lied to him about that. Daddy just decided he didn't want the same thing. You could tell he felt good just hearing me say it...

I had this talk a couple of months ago. The girls thought last year that I moved out on my own.

I told them, "no. Mommy asked me to move. If it were up to me, I never would have left. I'm sad every day that I'm not with you."

I think D11 knew that, but it came as a total shock to D7. She's really been putting the full-court press on STBXW.

They both know daddy still loves mommy.

BBJ, I thought with all the running you already were in pretty good shape. You look good on the alt.

I'm jealous. My injured foot still is keeping me off the basketball floor. It'll get better and I'll play softball or golf or just go for a short run -- and it hurts the next day.

I hate to say it, but I might be done with competitive basketball. That would make me feel old.

Good on setting the record straight with the kids.

I even told my son a while back that his mother wanted another chance but that it was too late for me since I had already moved on.

I have heard some very positive feedback on another 90 day workout program called "P90X" by Tony Horton of Beach Body. It's suppose to really kick you butt and comes with 11 different workouts. Cost is a bit steep though at $120!

Yeah "Insanity" costs the same and is offered by Beach Body as well. The only reason I chose it over P90 is that it does not require a pull-up bar or any equipment whatsoever. You use your own body weight/resistance for all the workouts. Comes with like 12 DVDs and a calendar that tells you which workout to do which day for the 90 days...
