The best part is that He UNDERSTANDS. He made us, so He is ready to forgive when we play tug of war... just be careful of doing it too long or He'll give a big enough tug to throw you off your feet to remind you - better to remember to do it yourself before you find yourself on your butt. I've been there a few times recently. Better to drop the rope as suggested here before. That way, you can't tug it without first bending over to pick it up, and that takes enough thought and time that hopefully you'll remember you're not supposed to be touching that rope.
