What's IEP? Why the wave of anger? did she just drop it on you at the last min so now you have to make it happen?

Is your mediation on Fri? is this the first meeting?

An IEP is an individualized education plan for kids with special needs. D7 is ADHD and is in her fifth school in four years. This year she got into a special program and is doing really well.

STBXW did just drop it on me, but I don't think she did it intentionally. She's just always in her own little world.

We only met with the school staff for 25 minutes because her everyday teacher was out sick. So we have to go back in two weeks.

I said two words during the entire meeting. At the end, one of the teachers asked me if what was being discussed was OK and I said "that's fine."

STBXW looked over at me a couple of times, but I just focused on the teachers. STBXW always complained I talked too much so I'm trying to say as little as possible around her.

She doesn't need to know what I'm thinking anymore. Really, the less I say around her the better. I think it makes her uncomfortable. I like that.

SR, I think the wave of anger was just me thinking I'm letting her "cake-eat." You know the feeling, you get a call talking about kid logistics and it sends you back to pre-breakup days. Then you hang up and remember that this is a person who no longer wants to be with you.

CTH, I know exactly what you mean. I get those waves a lot...not necessarily anger (though I can understand it). Mostly just that empty feeling of how we ended up here? so much is still the same yet not the same at all.

I'm guessing the anger also is a little bit from the fact tomorrow is our anniversary. I'm assuming no contact from her. If she calls to talk about anything else at all I may hang up on her.

A little anger is good sometimes, isn't it?

Happy anniversary to me. Married fourteen years ago. Ironically, my parents were married 14 years before they got divorced. STBXW called me at 8:20 a.m. I was doing dishes and didn't pick up.

I was going to call back then thought if it's really important she'll call again. I really don't want to hear her voice if it's some mundane issue.

Going to a baseball game this afternoon. It's not really in my budget but what the h*ll.

Off to Chicago. If you catch the game on TV, I'll be with an extremely attractive blond -- who unfortunately only dates rock band members. frown

Still. She's a great friend and a lot of fun and she's already got plans for us after the game. Apparently, I'll be hanging out with a bunch of people in for the week from France.

Wow, sounds like fun! Have no expectations, and just have a good time with what happens.

For me, though, I am a sucker for any woman with a French accent or that can speak in French. No idea why, just love it!

Have fun man, sounds like a good night! Compared to mine, I am going to work out, then food shopping. Ugh. That doesn't sound like much fun now that I write it down...

I wouldn't - and I don't, anymore - pick up at all. Ever. No matter what.

And if she does call back, let it go to voicemail and then check it out.

I have given X a list of 5 categories to which I will accept contact and respond. If it's not one of those five, do not contact me. And even with that, I no longer pick up, I delete her voicemails without even listening to them first. I figure even if it's one of those five, she'll eventually email me after being completely ignored phone-wise.

I. Am. Done.
