Had a good but short visit with my parents, sister and BIL yesterday. The only blot was D3 hitting BIL in the face. I've had a lot of problems with dealing with incidents of that nature. Everyone has a theory about discipline and let's not go there in my thread (!)...but it's a source of tension. D3 has definitely become much more aggressive and challenging since the separation.

FM-I just read about your night out- YUMM Indian food! I am not asking this to bring up discipline but I was just curious about what triggered D3 to hit BIL? just for plain old curiosity sake. I understand if you don't want to answer.

How did the write up on the field interview go?Or are you still doing it? I don't know how those things work.

I didn't see it happen, but it was most likely overstimulation. He loves to rile the kids up but he doesn't always recognize the connection between a rowdy game and stuff like that. Not that that makes it OK that she hit him...I'm not excusing it. But overstimulation is a trigger for both of my kids.

I'll be working on this project for a few months smile . The bulk of the field work will be in early June.

Thanks for answering! I kind of figured something like that- am always looking ahead to see what S might do lol! As for the project, wow that is a long time. Do you have to wait until the end to get paid? And are you glad you have it for a distraction?

sb2,

1. Go to the bottom of this page,
2. Click on Index
3. At the index click on "New Topic"

That will give you your own thread where people could help you. Don't forget to use paragraphs and spacing as you describe your situation.

I bill monthly but it can take months to get paid.

I would find it distracting if I could manage to work on it more...still struggling with procrastination!

So today went really well. Spent the morning with the kids and parents outside in the forest...it felt like a spring day and all the leaves are new and fresh on the trees and shrubs.

This afternoon I went shopping at the thrift store with mom and smart sister. Sister didn't pull any punches and was adamant if the fit in the butt was unacceptable to her wink . Scored some pants and some great silver shoes. Pants were desperately needed as I didn't have a single pair of well fitting ones. I don't want to spend money on new clothes until my weight stabilizes -- still seem to be losing.

Then I made dinner with mom. I haven't cooked in months! Dinner for eight came together easily though. I made Moroccan spiced lamb, tabbouleh, and served pita with hummous and baba ghanoush. We had cactus fruit for dessert. It was yummy IMHO.

It sucked when H came home for bedtime. I was really appalled that he was barely even polite to my mother. They have always had a warm relationship.

It's been an exhausting day. My parents are like children in some ways...you can count on them to need assistance with using a phone, or misplacing their sweater, etc. But it was great to have the positive energy of eight family members who are rarely all together. I did find myself able to ignore my sitch for good long stretches and that felt GREAT.
