Was he like this through out your marriage? Self absorbed, selfish, inconsiderate....probably not...yet he is like this now...despite saying that he wants to get back together. I vote for MLC...still going strong.
Him wanting to get back together...did you consider asking him to start slow with spending just weekends together as a family? To see how it goes? He must understand that you are scared to trust him to just have him move back home after what he has put the family through.
