Watch Marley & Me. Dogs can really grab a hold of you. I think it's the blind loyalty thing. A dog rarely has a bad day. He/she ALWAYS is happy to see you.

This is from a non-dog person. I didn't want one. STBXW promised the girls they could get one and in 2005 we got a puppy.

Funny thing is I was the one waking up every night to let it out to go potty. Until D11 started taking her for walks in the last two months, I was the only one who took her out for exercise.

So the damn thing misses me terribly. She gets this awful sad look when I drop the girls off and don't take her with me.

In a roundabout way it's kind of funny. STBXW wants a D -- and neither her daughters nor her dog want one.
