Just had a weird thought today - thinking about my past marriage, and my ex being my wife at one point, I came to realize that I never really had a "wife". Sure, she was called that on paper, but to me, over the course of 10 painful years being married to her, I don't really consider her as ever being my wife in the true sense of the word. I thought she was, for the first year, but then everything went downhill from there.
I think that having a "wife" would be a woman that loved her husband, and calling someone a "husband" would be a man that loved his wife and that both knew what a marriage really meant.
