Jack, I don't know much about the bowflex, I am not a big fan of machines, I am a free weight guy, but lets look at the routine you are doing. First, what set and rep scheme do you use? Do you simply try for an above 180lbs. max? You have to understand that strength gain is not linear, its up, down, steady. Does that make sense? If I max 450 on the bench in a meet, I need to back off and work for another max. This is done systematically. If you simply try to max all the time, you will plateau and fall back. Tell me what you typically do with sets, reps, and lbs. and we will see if we can get that bench moving upward!!!
