Except when it means, "Are you kidding?"
Or, "No way, I'm too tired."
Or, "I'm p*ssed-off right now and can't stand the sight of you."
Or, "I need some space."
Or, "I have to go the bathroom."
Or, "I'm going to go do some reading."
Or, "Goodnight."
But come on -- how unreasonable of us not to "get it." One wonders how human-kind has managed to procreate at all, really....
