OK, why this surprises me is the next big question. I just got back from picking up the girls at STBX's place. Stupidly, I brought up how our D had asserted herself with her teacher figuring we would have a parental victory dance or something...WRONG! STBX is still upset at the way the teacher handled this situation...unbelievable. She said "It's good that D approached him but I'm still upset, What kind of teacher just increases a grade because a student asks him. He didn't even look at her work or give it to another teacher for a second opinion...blah blah blah blah." I just stood there with my mouth open. Here our D has just asserted herself successfully with a teacher who intimidates her and all STBX can talk about is how upset she is! I changed the topic ASAP. When we got in the car I said to D "I see you told your mother about approaching the teacher yesterday" and D replied "OMG Daddy, she's still complaining. She says she wishes I had of given the teacher the letter she wrote" un-friggin-believable! I said to D "Yes, your mother is a special person" We both burst out laughing. It's times like these when I'm so glad I'm not with that woman anymore. I spent 17 years listening to her complain. What ever made me think I could do anything to please her? Yes, she's a very "special" person.
