it makes me feel a little bit stupid for thinking he actually wanted to spend time with me vs. texting me?

I wouldn't go down that road. Instead of assuming he's gay -- which I find unlikely since it's hardly an era when one has to be in the closet (particularly if unmarried -- and unmarried-and-34 isn't much of a red (pink?) flag) -- maybe he's just...tentative. Maybe he's not accustomed to women who are sort-of straight shooters (no pun intended but happily noted laugh ) when it comes to sex. My Good Christian Man Friend wigged out a bit when his New Lady Love -- to whom he is (I hope) proposing this weekend (if he can screw his courage to the sticking place, as Lady Macbeth put it) -- actually told him during a heavy-petting session where she wanted his hands to go.

"Do they always do that?" he asked me querulously. (GCMF not exactly being a Playah, yo.)

"Only if you're really lucky!" I replied.

So maybe he's just sitting there on the other end of the text thinking...

What if she doesn't like me?
What if she doesn't think I'm good-looking?
What if something happens and it's no good?
What if what if what if what if what if.......?

'Cause that's sort of the thing about (s)(t)exting, isn't it? I mean, that's why so many EA's begin electronically -- they're not "real" in that sense.

Just my "of course you're desirable so why don't you text me? LOL" 2-cents for the day. wink
