If she doesn't directly ask my W if she is having an affair, and my MIL is a firm believer in the EA and the damage it causes, my wife would just lay the "something missing, not happy anymore" story on her and that would be the end of it. I've enen talked to MIL about bringing the word affair into it and my W denying she's having an affair, to which my MIL voiced he displeasure.
