So you basically sing my entire iPod, in other words.
I love ALL of that, and share your love for the Poco, older Byrds, Flying Burrito Bros. sound.
I have a friend who plays in a band and I asked him what kind of stuff they play (his normal setlist is much like yours). He says "You know, chit you know the words to." LOL
Puppy, who's been known to hang with some bad company from time-to-time
Oh, yeah. Birds, Flying BB. It's maybe too country for you, but I always liked the Desert Rose Band who Chris Hillman was a part of. Along with John Jorgenson who is a great guitar player. Check them out if you haven't already.
Where I live, we always have to play some polka's and stuff like that, but try to pick ones that people haven't heard a million times. If I have to play Rocky Top one more time, my head will explode!
Just want to cheer you on IDU . You're doing great with you you're handling your sitch. And joining the band -- AWESOME GAL! Even if it doesn't work out I'm impressed that you tried, esp if it's a 180 for you.

Not really a 180, FM. I just kind of gave it up to spend more time with the family. With band practice, playing one or two night a week, it seemed like too much. Now the kids are getting older and the W doesn't think anything about going out so much, the opportunity presented itself, may as well give it a shot. Like I said, not really hoping too much right now as I don't know the people in the band at all. You can have a lot of great musicians and talent, but if the "chemistry" isn't there, you can't really do anything about that. We'll see and it will be fun reguardless!

LMFAO!!!
I'll have to check out the Desert Rose Band. Nothing's really "too country" for me, as I love country music (esp. 70s/80s).
Tell the "Rocky Top" crowd to chill, and introduce them to "Company's Comin'" by Poco. They'll thank you for it later (or maybe they won't), LOL.
Thanks for the laughs today Puppy. It almost feels like we're sitting in a bar having a few beers. I don't laugh nearly enough now days. You made my morning go by fast!
Good guess on the drummer. But, really, could there be a different answer?
OK, maybe bass player! JK!
Wow, now I'm sure I'm pissing of Neal Peart and Sting fans all across the country!
