Do you think its worth it for a WAS and betrayed situation that has years of abuse, neglect, etc? In my sitch the wife is willing to talk to a counselor and will be open to suggestions.
I've heard that Retro has an 80% success rate whereas MC has a 20% - I'm not saying that's true, it's just what I read online. If you can afford it, I would say it's worth a shot, but don't get your hopes up about it... go with an open mind.
I've never been but I've read a lot of stories about it and the dialoging online. I wouldn't have tried so hard to go if I didn't think it would matter to me.
$650 is not that much to me if it restores a meaningful relationship with my spouse, gets me back in the bed, and gets me back to a reasonable ( for me ) level sex and intimicy.

I've been to a Retrouvaille weekend. It is a good weekend, but it will not be an easy one.
Me: 44, Wife: 39 M: 17 years T: 20 years Bomb on 08/25/09 1/13/10: MC started 1/28/10, 2/8/10: More bombs 8/28/10: Wife moved out No talk of D, no movement
I know I posted about it but I've jumped some threads. Let me figure out where I posted it to.
I can tell you that we were not a couple that experienced the "magic bullet" of reconciliation. We still have a long way to go.
But it gave us a place to start fresh in trying to work together. Things have been better for us in many ways since the weekend and the post sessions.

MWD said somewhere that she has an 80% success rate.
Also note that a MC will accept a couple into MC when one of them is having an affair, but Retro will not, so its not an even comparison statistically speaking.
If you had the data with you, and filtered OUT the infidelity cases on the MC side I think you would find it a fair bit higher.
Retro is not run as a business, its actually quite cheap compared to MC. A MC program is a business, it will be
1. More expensive 2. A larger demographic (they will take anyone, infidelity or not)
I haven't been to Retro - not offered where I live- but I thought from what other posters had said, was that the cost was a question of what you could afford and so some paid more and some less. I guess they have a RRP though?
Saffie me 46 H 46 M in 1986 D20,D18,S16,D13 H's A 01/05 to 07/06 H recommitted to M 07/06 renewed vows 09/06 Going from strength to strength
Their website is www.helpourmarriage.org. I believe the 80% figure refers to a 5 year success rate for couples that have gone through the weekend and the post sessions. This is a very good success rate.
The price of the program varies by the place, as it is dependent on the cost to host it. Most places just ask for a deposit before the weekend, and the balance is collected at the end of the weekend in the form of a donation. I am surprised that in this case, the entire cost was billed up front. As someone suggested, they must be holding it at a hotel which required payment.
