I still think I will have better luck dating an old friend/acquaintance from my area v. a stranger on match...
I tend to agree with this. I much prefer getting to know someone first casually, having time to be around them in daily life events to judge their character, before I begin to think about them possibly being an intimate "match". The whole thing with match to me is backwards - I'm meeting someone for the first time to see if I'm attracted to them and want to date them. Of course maybe I'm just weird. Who knows.
