8, I think that reminding your H about birthdays etc. is kind of in the caretaking department. I would avoid that kind of stuff right now because it projects that you don't think that he can look after himself, and he might be feeling insecure about himself right now. I could be off-base.

Onthemountaintop, thanks for this wonderful post. This is one that deserves lots of my attention, and I will likely work on even more of it in my separate journal. I'll be posting some of my thoughts tomorrow. I want to give all that you said careful thought. Thanks again!
flowmom and rr22, you're right about the birthday reminders. I'll leave him to either remember people's birthdays or deal with the consequences of forgetting them. Good advice!
Lost Rabbit! So glad to hear from you, but very sorry to hear about the laptop.
Possum is still at large, unfortunately. He's a tricky one.
Glad I inspired you to do some home improvement things. I managed to get quite a few things done, and I feel productive and powerful. I am a renovation guru.
As for my father . . . sigh. He's a piece of work. When I have more time tomorrow, I'll post some of his recent fatherly advice and wisdom. It's just as good as the other advice he's given so far.
Oh, I'll be there. Now that a big chunk of my home improvement work is behind me, I'll have a few moments to set myself up on the alt. Expect to see me there on Monday. [Tuesday at the latest, in case I lose track of time on Monday afternoon. It's been known to happen.]
