SR, I agree...don't send the email about how her dissatisfaction is not justified. It's pursuing and basically trying to argue her out of how she feels, which isn't going to work unfortunately.
That sucks that your D will be away that long. Maybe you could talk with her after she returns and restate what you feel comfortable with in terms of separations. I agree that there's not much point in making a stink about this trip.
