I simply removed my relationship status from my profile. I'd say half of my FB friends knew what was going on already but I didn't care to tell the rest. BF isn't on FB so I didn't have to "unfriend" him but I did limit the info I let his real life friends see. I didn't unfriend any of them but I set it up so they didn't get any of my status updates. They were free to look me up but I wasn't sending any info to them.
