Is R Polish? If so, you could be in luck today...

Dyngus Day, also spelled Dingus Day, is a Polish Holiday. It is very popular in Poland, and in Polish communities in America. After the long Lenten holiday, Dyngus Day is a day of fun. And, perhaps a little romantic fun. It is always celebrated on the Monday after Easter.

There are all sort of ways for boys to meet girls. But, this one takes the cake.

Guys, on this day you get to wet the ladies down. Sprinkling or drenching with water is your goal. Chase after the ladies with squirt guns, buckets, or other containers of water. The more bold and gallant boys, may choose to use cologne. Hitting (gently, please) the ladies on the legs with switches or pussy willows is also common.

Yes ladies, you can strike back. Ladies, you get your revenge on Tuesday, when tradition has it that you throw dishes or crockery back at the boys. It has become increasingly popular for the ladies to get their revenge on Monday, tossing water back at the boys.

Note: Dyngus Day is also called Wet Easter Monday. Hmmmmm, I wonder why!?

You have to wait 10 more months for your holiday - it is called Valentines day.

PS. I want action too!

Oh come on....on May Day you used to chase the boys who brought you a May Basket and vice versa, somebody better bring me a basket!!! I can't wait until February....

And Kerry you want action? I believe it but I know Little Kerry has seen some action far more recently than BBJ...a kiss in and of itself would be awesome!

And there is some kind of phone issue...I finally replied to R an hour ago but the message is still marked "sent" but not "received" on my phone...

Time to go get groceries...perk? My store has a starbucks inside!! smile

No, Valentine's Day requires that you already have a guy to grab and kiss. We need a holiday that's one of those 'free for all' days. grin

Bobbi Jo is correct about May Day - I remember trying to get the guts up when I was 8 or 9 and give a girl I had a huge crush on some May Day flowers in a basket. I got so close to her door but chickened out and gave the basket to my mom instead.

The way things are working out, I may get another chance at giving someone a May Day basket this year. And LK might get happy too!

Kerry, don't rub it in!!

So Dan came by to drop the kids off...he stayed for about 20 min again. Stood in the driveway chatting and watching Sydney ride her bike. I gave him all of the tax stuff I had prepared, started to get pissy bc they didn't take enough out of my check. However I stopped him short and said I didn't realize, couldn't change it now but of course would make adjustments for next year which wouldn't be his problem anyway....

As we were chatting the neighbors across the street were smoking a turkey in their driveway. It is a rental house and the element is a little shady...one woman, her kids, and two men coming and going all the time.

Anyway the two men were standing by the smoker, smoking and talking, and loud rock music was blaring from their truck. I mentioned to Dan that the music had been going for hours and I could even hear it inside the house. It was loud rock w/swearing...

So anyway while we were talking, one of the guys goes to his truck and shuts off the radio, about ten minutes after Dan got there. As the guy turns it off, Dan says, "Amazing what a long intimidating stare can do".... smile

So then when he left, he was getting in the truck, and he turns around and says, "Let me know if you need me to come stare those guys down again, I can come back any time." cool

Seriously! He moved out a year ago and suddenly now he is concerned for my well being living alone? smile Geez...

At least I got the taxes handed off so I don't have to worry about them any more!

And I am just giving up on the R thing at this point. He texted me this morning that he had JUST gotten my texts from over the weekend. About four hours later I replied, then I didn't hear back. However now I don't know if he is blowing me off or if his phone is once again jacked up?! I figure if he wants to reach me, he can figure out how...

But I am disappointed a little bc I was so ready to kiss somebody!!

<<John I don't know what you'll think of this, but R is not divorced. He has never been maried...he has moved a couple times for teaching jobs but other than that I have no idea why he hasn't gotten married yet.>>

I remember dating a lady who had never been married....I don't know what to say....i can say red flag but there are other red flags out there....

R and I went to High School together. He graduated one year behind me but I don't know if he is actually younger since I was one of the youngest in my class with a late August birthday, I was not five until the first week of school!

Well we have been chatting this evening. He is DEFINITELY still interested....

He said he left after an hour Friday bc he thought I seemed quite nervous having him there. So he asked me to be honest. I said that honestly I wanted him to stay a little longer, and I liked our flirty texting but that in reality I am a pretty slow mover, I wasn't sure what I was ready for in terms of the physical stuff. He said he was cool with that.

So as long as he knows that I may be flirty but it doesn't mean I am easy, I am good! smile

So the odds of getting some kissing in soon are going up...
