Answer to my request to take Marc with them:

"The kids are being dropped off to stay with friends at their condos so Marc wouldn't have anyone to hang out with. I am just going to D's (our cousin who lives there) to hang with her while the kids are on the beach. Marc would be bored out of his mind."

I figured as much. It was worth a try though.
