W is feeling something, guilt or I don't know what. Today she asked to come with d and I to skating lessons (had to say yes for d). Acting like her old self around the house today.

I velcro'd mine up underneath her driver's seat in our car. other than the occasional FL afternoon thunderstorm setting it off, and wearing out the batteries with nothing to show for it, it worked like a charm.
Oh, and make sure you don't make the rookie mistake of saying "Testing, 1,2,3, testing . . ." into it. You don't want your own voice ANYWHERE on that thing. Just use tongue-clicks if you need to test it to make sure it's recording.
I'm a bit freaked out today. I was looking for my recorder (under the seat) and I didn't feel it. It's probably there but I didn't have enough time alone to really look.
However, any ideas on how to approach if my intel gathering is found out?

The day you put in a recorder is also the day you lose it -- the date on the calendar just hasn't been determined yet. They almost always get found (mine did, but by then, I had PLENTY of good intel).
If you're confronted about it, you say EXACTLY this:
"I don't know what you're talking about. But if I DID do something like that, it would only be because I was trying to fight for my marriage and my family."
I seriously doubt she found it already though. Usually, they are found after you confront them about something and they begin to figure out HOW YOU KNOW such a thing, and then they search their car.
