Success. Had a phone call from W. Kept it upbeat, non-R, and projected "the awesome". Talked about my awesome current reconciliation with my cycling/piping buddy I started today. Dropped some tantalizing hints about what is going on in his world, since she knew him well. She asked about my riding and awesomely told of the many miles I'm doing. She asked if I was going to pipes, and I awesomely told her I was and needed to text one of the guys, so I had to go. Cut the conversation short and said goodbye first.
She was reconciling the business checkbook.
Woot!

I'll add to this redundancy and say that what you did sounded.... awesome!
Always cut the conversation first, be the first to say bye and hang up, always have something to do, always be too busy to talk to them.
The next time she calls and if it's in the late afternoon, early evening, tell her you can't talk on the phone, you're getting ready to go out with a friend and if she asks who you're going out with, you just tell her, "you wouldn't know them, gotta go, running late, see ya!"
