The snarkiness is a tough one. I managed to cut back on that in the last couple of years, but I'm not proud that I've done that a lot frown . For me it was a passive-agressive way to express my distress that my needs weren't being met. Anyway, it was a habit. So calling your H on it every time is a good call. Also, getting the feedback in a gentle way would have helped me...getting snarked back never gave me a reason to stop (I cut back because I made the choice to change my behaviours). It would have also helped me to get some affection or softness after the feedback about my snarking, so that I didn't feel that horrible "being in the doghouse" feeling. Anyway, I don't know if any of that applies to your sitch, but I just thought I'd share that.
