Bunny, I agree with what Gardener wrote. Your H is trying to keep control. To him amicable means that you agree to what he wants. I have a feeling that he is trying to stop you from getting advice to tell you what would be "normal" or even required, and hoping to get you to agree to less. That would be a bad plan.
