Taking care of Goldey. I'm not sure I even know what that means.
Here's what we know: I'm Co-Dependent. Big Time.
Working the steps to recovery for 90 days now. Got the coin to prove it. Priceless.
Taking meds, following the treatment plan as best I can, which means I've only missed one dose.
Recognizing that I can't un-do what's been done. I can't spend a lot of time looking back. Quoting my good friend, "You can't un-ring a bell."
What I can do: Live each day fully. Make it count. Take baby steps, sometimes hour by freakin' hour. You know what I mean? Eat off the good china. 'Cause you know what? You can't take it with you.
Say no more often. Practice those healthy boundaries, while making new, healthier friends.
And cherishing the old ones. Thanks again, DB'ers, one and all.

Goldey,
Everything's easier said than done! wink
You take care. Of you. A lot of prayers are coming your way right about now. Feel 'em. Tap into 'em.

"love your neighbor as yourself." You will have a whole lot more to offer the world when you are at 100%. Look at yourself in the mirror and say out loud, "I love you Goldey."

You can handle it.

Cheers

Got that lesson down for sure, Coach.
I'm nowhere near 100% yet. When I am, I know that:
1) I am loveable
2) I deserve it
It's gonna take time. Lotsa time.
But I can see the other side of the canyon, and it looks mighty wonderful!

It's a beautiful afternoon...plan to work outside on my container gardening a bit more, then perhaps read a bit of whatever trashy paperback is laying around.
Tonight, a CoDA meeting, and with any luck, a DVD if I don't get home too late.
All in all, I give the day an 8.
Sure am ready for a girls' night out, however.

Goldey,

I just posted a "thank you" to you, on another thread, for your great insight into human nature.

Grow a pot of basil. Easy to grow, smells great and has lots of uses. It is a incredible herb, you become a great cook when you use fresh basil. One of the ways to love yourself is to eat well. Learn to make pesto and homemade pizza then share with your friends.

What would it take to be a 9 or 10?
