So H just called and he was out flying today. ON the one hand, I think "why is he not coming over afraid to miss a sick day of work but can go flying all day?" the other part of me says, well if this lifts his spirits on this horrible day, it can only help.
So i decided to be friends and when he called me all happy from wherever he flew to, I just supported him. Trying to be friends. And glad this will lighten his mood.

Yeah, S and I met at a park with H. He kept talking about his flight. AFter a while I had to excuse myself and catch a grip because I was so upset about the superficiality of his convesation. But I was determined to keep upbeat and positive. I returned with PMA. He was jumping around the monkey bars and said, "You should come see the inside of it sometime."
At first I thought this was more self centered blather, but then I realized it almoooooooost fits one of my current short term goals: "H will invite me to do something with him." I almost wondered if he was flirting again.
I remember when we first met he was bragging about how fast and powerful his car was and showed it off to me. I'm a bit of a tomboy, so I enjoyed the ride. This felt similar - he kept going on about how much power was in the plane's engine...
The old me would have immediately tried to pin down a date! BUt the 180 me said, "SUre. You're welcome to invite me some time and I'll see if I"m available."
Left it at that.
Then he was joshing around about how he was going to find his own way out of town to the freeway - I grew up in that town so I gave him the best route, but of course he bragged playfully that he'll be home the fastest. So I said you're welcome to text me and we'll see who arrives first - I"m sure you'll get lost. The banter went like that.
I did text him when I reached home: " Made it back to town - bet you didn't. Haha." and he replied "Waaaaah."
NOw this is all silly meaningless stuff. Of course I"m dying for deep meaningful bonding - I"m a woman. But like I said, he bantered and bragged and played around like this when we first dated, so I thought - hmmmm, maybe this is good?
Anyone? Thoughts? Am I crazy? Men esp. - isn't this the way men "show off" for women they are trying to impress?
I could be making it all up. But I'm trying to trust the DB process, not pressure, and let friendship evolve before romance. We'll see....
