I know it is coming out, small town and all that but I am so afraid that the more people that know, the more scared H will be to come home should he decide to do that!
That's the least of your worries at this point, CW; you can't worry about what he'll do because of the word getting around; you got enough on your plate as it is now; without adding more.
I'm not trying to be unkind; I really do understand...but, sometimes things like this are part of the MLC'er's consequences. IMHO, quite honestly, people really ought to keep their mouths shut, and just pray for the couple in trouble instead of spreading gossip around for others to do whatever they do with it.
On the other hand, people are going to talk no matter what you do, and you cannot stop that; would be a waste to even try to stop the gossipers...then again, they need prayer, too.
Everything happens for a reason, and we won't always know that reason..for everything bad that happens, there is always something good that comes out of it...sounds like a cliche, but you, I've seen it happen more than once.
Remember, as each person is different, every MLC/Transition is different..what works for one may not work for another. Most of the time it is trial and error for ALL involved.
