Looked into doing it online? There is TONS of financial aid out there...and you being a single parent might be able to get some grants vs. loans that could potentially pay for the whole shebang.
Im still standin better than I ever did looking like a true survivor feeling like a little kid Im still standin after all this time and Im picking up the pieces of my life without you on my mind..
Everything I find that I may be able to do online says it's no eligible for government grants or traditional financial aid because it's considered continuing education. Do you know of any way around that?

In the UK we have some charities that give financial aid for adult further education, you just have to do a bit of hunting around for them. Sometimes it's small local trusts and stuff.
I think it is a great idea Mishka, any idea of what you would like to do?
I'd like to get into the medical field. I think a good foot in would be medical billing and coding. It's always in need and versatile to doctor's offices or hospitals. Some people even do it at home but I don't think I'd like that. It would also get me into someplace where I might be able to afford some medical insurance. BONUS! The pay is about the same as I make now but there are so many more opportunities. It's not so dead end.
I found a program that is offered as continuing education through one of the local technical colleges. It's completely online with video lectures, simulated software, and all books for about $2500. It's a 6 month to 1 year program depending on your pace. I could probably knock it out in the 6 months if I can get my act together and just lock myself in my room nightly. It's 360 hours approximately and includes medical front office too so I'd have more to offer than just coding and billing.
What do you guys think?

Don't rush yourself. Don't want to burn yourself out. Take as much time as you need to absorb the stuff.
You can take out a student loan if you have to make up the difference between grants/scholarships. The interest rates aren't too bad. Way lower than a credit card.

Contact the school, they should have a financial aid departmemnt. These people really know the ins and outs of financial aid. There are some federal as well as state grants that you may be eligible for.

I would try anyway Mish. Go the the FAFSA website.
And if that is the case, find a different school because w/ all the assistance out there, it is bs.
