Got an email from H this am.. (actually 2 emails-same message but sent from his work & personal accts so assuming someone is blind copied).
was curious how but turns out he found out about the refund via following me one of the social networks. refuses to reconnect after dropping me on facebook but guess he's been stalking me elsewhere..hmmm.
this am I posted something about recommendations on contractors and bam I get an angry email.. "You haven't responded to my financial request and now I see your plan to start with contractors" then all about how by ignoring him I am subjecting myself to more financial liability, this is a way for him to pay the bills that he's behind on, how he's entitled to 50%, etc.. "write to me so we can come to an agreement and we don't end up in court." Then about how much he is entitled to, how I helped him with one of his medical bills so he deducted that from what I owe him. Seriously? Unreal….
But at least it lets me know I have to get some legal advice now on how to move forward. Also lets me know he’s not looking for any solution to our situation anytime soon. I’m definitely going to have to file something!
Very interesting. I wonder how he's tracking you and your plans. So strange.
I can't imagine how frustrated you are! Why are his late bills your problem? You're subjecting yourself to more financial liability? And he's already done the math, minus a medical bill? And he's using a court appearance threat? I guess this answers an earlier question--he was not sincere when he made pleasantries in the previous e-mail.
Good thinking about getting some legal advice. I guess it's time for that. Unfortunately, it seems like he's focusing on all the wrong things (things for himself) instead of thinking about a solution.
I'm glad to hear that your brother's tumor was benign. That's a relief to all your family, I'm sure. As for your father, I'm sorry.

Rhody...have you thought about telling H you are going to use his share of refund to help with HIS portion of the mortgage?
I just did a budget where I listed all our bills and divided them in half. (WAH, MLC, is living 150 miles north at cabin)...I got a call this morning with a question from H...Why do we still have a phone (landline) and if you don't watch alot of TV why do we need the 'dishnetwork'? To which I said...if we got rid of landline we would need to change our cell phone plan which would cost more and I do watch TV at night. I should have told him he could sell his 4-wheeler and then we wouldn't have that payment!
Good news about your brother, sorry to hear about your dad.
